Server (FULL TIME) 

Role Description: The primary responsibility of the server is to distribute prepared foods (according to proprietary procedures established by the Jamaican Pot, LLC) into the appropriate containers associated with orders made by customers and to assist in transporting the prepared containers to either the order holding area or to the actual customer. Servers are expected to keep the kitchen/serving area clean and stocked with the appropriate containers for distributing food and are required to execute all duties according to safety and sanitary guidelines established by local authorities and the Jamaican Pot, LLC. The server also assists in any other operation of the restaurant as needed according to the situation and/or the requests of management as is appropriate. These activities can include:


● assisting the chef-on-duty with the cooking of foods and/or the preparation of foods for cooking on other apparatus (such as stove, oven, fryer, etc.) 

● cleaning the cooking area (or any other area of the facility) 

● cleaning utensils associated with cooking and/or eating/drinking ● the proper storage/disposal of left-over foods 

● the removal of trash from the restaurant 

● appearing at and/or participating in promotional events 

● assisting with the delivery and serving of food at catering events ● assisting in employee training 

● attending team meetings 

● other activities identified by management as appropriate

Qualifications 

● at least 3 years of restaurant kitchen crew experience 

● ability to lift at least 25 lbs (11.34 kg) unaided 

● availability to work up to 30 hours per week Mon. - Sat. 

● effective verbal and written communication skills 

● effective listening skills 

● strong ability to work well with others 

● strong ability to multi-task 

● proactive and productive work ethic 

● access to reliable transportation 

● availability to work day and night shifts as needed 

● availability to work on short notice

Cashier (FULL TIME) 

Role Description: The primary responsibility of the cashier is to process customer orders and provide collected orders to the kitchen staff. This may include face-to-face interactions with customers in additional to orders placed over the telephone or by other means (such as via fax or online when available). The cashier is often times the first and last person customers encounter during a visit. Therefore, cashiers are expected to promote the restaurant in a positive manner while providing kind and caring service to customers. Cashiers will need to be knowledgeable of all items on the Jamaican Pot menu as well as available specials and any other information needed to provide clear concise feedback to customers that will enhance their experience. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to:


● cleaning the register and lobby areas of the restaurant (or any other area of the facility) 

● appearing at and/or participating in promotional events 

● processing customer orders using restaurant point of service devices 

● providing placed orders to kitchen staff 

● packaging customer orders 

● announcing customer order completion and delivering completed orders to customers 

● assisting in employee training 

● attending team meetings 

● other activities identified by management as appropriate

Qualifications 

● at least 3 years’ experience working as a cashier (in retail or service-related business) preferred 

● availability to work up to 40 hours per week Mon. - Sat. 

● effective verbal and written communication skills 

● effective listening skills 

● strong ability to work well with others 

● strong ability to multi-task 

● proactive and productive work ethic 

● access to reliable transportation 

● availability to work day and night shifts as needed 

● availability to work on short notice
